On April 6, the Qingming Festival holiday ushered in the return travel rush, with overlapping passenger flows for spring outings, ancestor worship, family visits, tourism, and return trips of migrant workers and students, continuously increasing the pressure on railway authorities for transportation support.
The return passenger flow this time was characterized by broad travel scope, concentrated peak times and high-volume operations. To cope with the peak, railway authorities dynamically adjusted transportation plans and added 84 trains to popular destinations, including 31 additional trains on the Chengdu-Chongqing Intercity Railway, with a total of 143 related trains operated during the holiday, strongly ensuring convenient travel for passengers.
To meet travel demands, railway authorities added night-time EMU trains operating between Chengdu, Guiyang, Yibin, Fuling and other places on multiple routes in Sichuan, Chongqing and Guizhou, precisely supplementing peak capacity.
