Jingkou Jialing River Grand Bridge on Second Chengdu-Chongqing
High Speed Railway Closes Today
At approximately 10:00 on March 31, as welding work on the final steel box girder closure segment was completed, the Jingkou Jialing River Grand Bridge—a critical control project along the entire newly constructed Second Chengdu-Chongqing High Speed Railway—was successfully closed. This achievement signifies that all bridges along the Second Chengdu-Chongqing High Speed Railway have now been closed, laying a solid foundation for the line's scheduled opening and operation.
The Second Chengdu-Chongqing High Speed Railway is an important component of the Yangtze River Corridor within China's national "Eight North-South and Eight East-West" high-speed railway network. Upon completion and opening, it will interconnect with multiple existing and under-construction lines, further reducing travel time between Chengdu and Chongqing and improving the railway network structure in the Chengdu-Chongqing region. This will provide great convenience for residents along the route and holds significant importance for supporting the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and promoting the formation of a new paradigm in the large-scale development of western China.
