The Xi'an–Ankang High-Speed Railway has completed an incremental speed-up test using coupled EMU trains, with the trains steadily reaching the designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The test comprehensively verified key systems and equipment, including tracks, power supply and signaling.
The railway is about 171 kilometers long. Once operational, it will cut travel time between Xi'an and Ankang from three hours to less than one hour.
